Brian Wolford is a Senior Research Engineer with the Rockwell Collins Advanced Technology Center Immersive & Autonomous Systems Group. He has been with Rockwell Collins for eleven years. Wolford’s current role is software architect for unmanned systems integration that includes the development of distributed flight management systems for UAS and their integration with avionics production hardware systems. Additionally, he actively works flight testing projects involving UAS and surrogate flight vehicles for verification and validation testing. His primary background is in embedded software development for various applications. This includes Live Virtual Constructive applications and DO-178B qualified avionics software. His experience with Live Virtual Constructive includes applications for distributed pilot and soldier training, insertion of distributed training protocols into embedded environments, and simulation frameworks. Wolford has avionics applications experience in a wide range of areas including: primary flight instruments, situational awareness displays, flight management systems, and synthetic vision.
