Michael P. Matessa

mike-glass-142x200Michael P. Matessa is a Senior Systems Engineer / Cognitive Scientist in the Aviation Information Systems group in the Advanced Technology Center. He has more than 15 years of human factors experience working at NASA and in industry. Mr. Matessa’s research interests include human-autonomy teaming (HAT), reduced crew operations (RCO), and crew resource management (CRM). He has won a number of NASA awards, including a group achievement award for conducting simulation evaluations with the NASA Ames Single Pilot Operations Experiment Team. He has published over 100 journal articles, book chapters, and refereed conference proceedings papers. Mr. Matessa is stationed at NASA Ames to collaborate as a Principal Investigator on a multi-year RCO contract and to investigate HAT under a Space Act Agreement.
